Message from the Head Teacher

SIRI GURDWARA RAMGARHIA RAILWAY GURMAT SCHOOL is located at the South ‘C’ area of Nairobi, Kenya. With the blessings of SIRI GURU GRANTH SAHIBJI and visionary

support of Mr Jaswinder Singh Gharial, the Chairman of SIRI GURDWARA RAMGARHIA RAILWAY and his very able team, Gurmat School commenced on 16/03/2013 with 44 children in attendance.

Based on the UK format of GCSE system of teaching Panjabi, we have developed syllabuses for age groups 3 – 16 year olds on 3 levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced, with certification and graduation at every level.  We would also like to reach out to both children and adults over 16 years who have missed the opportunity to study their mother tongue to join the senior class.  We have 10 students in the senior class, most of whom are young mothers, the oldest student is a grandmother of 58 years old!
