REPORT OF CLASS B1A

(3-5 YEARS)

TEACHER: GAGANDEEP KAUR BHACHU

Most of the older learners have grasped the following:

* Greeting people.

* Numbers 1-10 in Panjabi.

* Path - Mool Mantar, First pauri of Japji Sahib.

* Painti:

* Names of our Ten Gurus.

* Names of four Sahibzade.

* Names of Five K’s.

* Names of Five Beloved of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Newcomers and younger learners are in various stages of learning the above.  I use a variety of methods to teach these tender ones, such as drawing, coloring and painting.  Have begun making flashcards of the alphabet. The greetings, path and names of the Ten Gurus, Four Sahibzade, Five Kakkars and Panj Pyare are done orally using pictures and stories. Written work and workbooks are used to teach the painti and numbers. The children have done well in their annual written examination in November 2014. Speaking tests are being conducted with simple questions in Panjabi. Recognizing letters of the painti comprises the reading test. The children learn kirtan in groups during their music lesson.
